The new owners, the Bleakley family hope to give the Marina a new lease of life with improved facilities and a wealth of investment planned for the future. Phil, the father of the family was quick to see the Marinas potential and leapt at the opportunity knowing that the previous owners were looking to retire.

The Marina is a welcome change for the family whose previous business was a hectic one to say the least. Phil and Pam set up Local Building Supplies, a builder’s merchant based in Pudsey, Leeds in the early 1980’s. Over the years they developed LBS into a very successful business operating out of three branches and employing over 60 staff. Brother and Sister Duo Richard and Joanna took on managerial roles within the last few years before the company was eventually sold in June 2004.
